I owned a Panasonic canister vacuum cleaner for 27 years. When it finally bit the dust (or the dust bit it, as it no longer worked); I searched on Amazon for the best canister I could find. Since I have a cat in the house; it was imperative that the vacuum cleaner be capable of cleaning up excessive amounts of cat hair. After searching for days; I decided upon the LG Kompressor Canister PetCare Plus Vacuum Cleaner LcV900B. When I first used it in Sept. 2011; it exceeded my expectations. At the time; I thought that my decision had been a good one. Than, a little more than 1 year on the job; the suction suddenly dropped, not due to a clog, but because the push button controls on the handle no longer worked. Dealing with customer service at LG, is a very unpleasant experience. Out of frustration; I ended up giving the vacuum to a family member, and let them deal with getting it repaired. This led me to a new search on Amazon for that perfect canister cleaner that would be as good as my Panasonic had been. Unfortunately, despite searching for hours; I couldn't find a single vacuum cleaner that had all positive reviews. It seemed that every one had its faults. Not wanting to experience another LG disaster; I headed for Sears to see what they had to say. Not being overly impressed with anything that I tried out; I headed for the exit. As I was doing so; one of the salesman approached to tell me that the Henry Xtra HVX200-22 was available by catalog and that he had heard that it was an exceptional machine. Never having heard of the brand before; I was very apprehensive about purchasing something sight unseen. The salesman explained that if I didn't like it once it arrived; Sears would offer me a complete refund. Since I had nothing to lose; I took him up on his offer. It also helped that I had a 30% off coupon, plus an additional Sears credit on my account. Otherwise; the vacuum would have been more than I could afford. To my surprise; it arrived in less than a week. Now it was time to put it to the test. After getting everything assembled correctly; I used it to vacuum my whole house. Getting rid of cat hair was my first priority. Boy, was I amazed. This baby puts out an incredible amount of power, yet runs quieter than any of the previous machines that I've owned. It had no trouble at all removing the deepest layers of cat hair and making my carpets look like new. There are so may attachments that came with it; it will take me some time to use them all. It comes with a threaded hose, a stainless steel tube bend with volume control, 2 stainless steel extension tubes, a 12" combination floor nozzle, an 11" Easy Ride Airo Brush, a double taper hose/tool adapter, a 9" crevice tool; a 2.5" soft dusting brush, a 6" upholstery nozzle, and a 6" slide-on Brush for the upholstery nozzle. It comes with a complex filtering system that is extremely effective at reducing particles in the air, as well as reducing odors. The 1,200 watt motor is incredibly powerful, yet as mentioned above, on the quiet side. One of the things I like the best about this canister vacuum cleaner is that it comes with a very long 30' cord, 14' longer than the one that came with my doomed LG. To me; this is a big deal, as I hate having to continually plug a vaccuum cleaner into different outlets. Doing so is time consuming and an annoyance. Now that I've used the Henry Xtra for several weeks; I can say that it's by far the best made and best performing vacuum cleaner that I've ever owned. It's a powerful machine and performs exceptionally well moving from hard floors to carpet with ease. Also, as an added bonus; the narrow profile fits easily under coffee tables and chairs, making it a breeze to use. Having known nothing about this brand until recently; I'm truly impressed with its performance to date.
